A Calling That Could Not Be Ignored
SENT Project Africa was born out of a deeply personal calling. Founders Frederick and Lilian Abboah-Offei witnessed firsthand the barriers that children with special educational needs face in Africa — barriers rooted not in their abilities, but in systems, attitudes, and lack of resources that have failed them for generations. Moved by faith and fuelled by compassion, Frederick and Lilian answered a divine call to act. They founded SENT with a simple but powerful conviction: every child, regardless of ability, background, or circumstance, deserves access to quality education and the chance to live a life of dignity and purpose. What started as a personal mission has grown into a movement — reaching schools, churches, families, and governments across Ghana, Nigeria, and beyond.
Frederick and Lilian Abboah-Offei are the heart and soul of SENT Project Africa. Driven by faith, personal experience, and an unshakeable belief in the dignity of every child, they left behind comfort to pursue a mission that would cost them everything — and give so much more in return.
Together, they have built a platform for change that reaches into classrooms, homes, churches, and government chambers. Their leadership is defined not by titles, but by the lives they have walked alongside and the systems they have worked to transform.
"God sent us to be a voice for these children, and we will not be silent until every child has a seat at the table."
We engage churches and community organisations to become pillars of inclusion — training leaders to embrace children with special needs and create cultures of belonging within their communities.
We work directly with schools to transform classrooms into inclusive, welcoming spaces. Through teacher training, resource provision, and ongoing support, we equip educators to meet the needs of every learner.
SENT engages governments and policymakers to influence legislation that protects and promotes the rights of children with special educational needs and disabilities across Africa.
We build networks of hope for parents — spaces where they can find strength, share experiences, and discover a community that celebrates their children as gifts with unique purpose and potential.
